Dear Friend,
It's 1914...
In a cold water flat on New York's Lower East Side, a young man sits at a small kitchen table. Scattered on the table are twelve hard-bound books. He opens the first book and studies it intensely.
It's 1924...
In a suburb on New York's Long Island, a middle-aged man sits in his study. Piled high on his desk are twelve hard-bound books. He reaches for the top book, opens it, and studies it intensely.
It's 1934...
In a brownstone on New York's Upper East Side, an older man sits in his oak panelled library. Sitting in pride of place on the shelves are twelve hard-bound books. He slides one book from the shelf, opens it, and studies it intensely.
What took this one man from the mailroom to the boardroom in only twenty short years? And what took thousands of other men and woman all across America from failure to success? From poverty to prosperity?
Of course, you already know the answer lies in those twelve hard-bound books.
I found those books recently. Worn with age, blemished with water spots, the spines tattered, and the corners bumped. But between the covers I found one of the simplest, most practical courses on success I'd read.
Let me tell you about it... The Mystery of "Applied Psychology"
Published in 1914 by The Society of Applied Psychology and written by the society's founder, Warren Hilton, this rare course was simply titled Applied Psychology.
I was intrigued. Why had I not heard of this amazing course before? I'm addicted to books - especially old books and courses on success and self-help.
I searched the internet eager to discover more. But all I found were booksellers offering a few volumes from this course at incredibly high prices.
Frustrated I emailed Dr. Joe Vitale, author of bestselling book The Attractor Factor and star of The Secret. I knew Joe had a vast collection of old books. If anyone had heard of Warren Hilton and The Society of Applied Psychology I reckoned it would be Joe.
Joe didn't solve the mystery but he did have a piece of advice for you. I'll tell you what Joe had to say in a moment.
But first let me explain what makes this course almost unique...
A Scientific Study of Success
I've read a lot of books on success in my time.
Think and Grow Rich? Read it. The Magic of Believing? Read it. The Power of Positive Thinking? Read it. And countless others.
I bet you've read a lot of these books too.
But have you read one that's based on exhaustive scientific research? Me neither. Until I read Applied Psychology.
You see the ideas in Applied Psychology are not mystical or metaphysical. The ideas in this course are based on the science of the human mind -- the science of psychology. And since these principles are based on science, they can be tested and proven.
That's exactly what The Society of Applied Psychology did.
Imagine a private laboratory with tall shelves crammed with glass jars, beakers, and test tubes. Cupboards packed with scientific apparatus.
And imagine men dressed in heavy suits and starched collars, and women in long, practical dresses.
What kinds of tests did these remarkable men and women carry out? From the pictures of the experiments in the books, I can tell you a few...
- Testing sharpness of hearing with an acoumeter
- Testing steadiness of motor control
- Determining suggestibility by progressive line test
- Testing the range of visual attention
- Testing the memory with Professor Jastrow's memory apparatus
But why spend all this time in such painstaking research? What was the motive behind The Society of Applied Psychology and its founder?
I'll let Warren Hilton tell you himself...
"In this basic course we shall lay before you in simple and clear-cut but scientific form the proof that you have at your command mental powers of which you have never before dreamed.
And we shall give you such specific directions for the use of these newfound powers, that whatever your environment, whatever your business, whatever your ambition, you need but follow our plain and simple instructions in order to do the thing you want to do, the be the person you want to be, or to get the thing you want to have."
Before I tell you more about Applied Psychology, I have a word of caution...
A Mental Toolbox If you're looking for a book of inspirational stories - a pinch of positive thinking, a dash of motivation - this isn't it.
But if you want to achieve unimagined success and you're willing to study and apply what you learn, this course will deliver.
